The A’s finished at 8-17 overall as they were 8-15 in the regular season. This season, the A’s returned 21 of 30 total players as the 2017 campaign opened on May 24th. Published in the June 22, 2017 edition NORTH READING – Team CJM Builders (Visitors) beat out Farrelly Realty (Home) 12-10 to become the 2017 North Reading U10 Division Softball Champions. Murphy recently announced that the North Reading Police Department participated in the 10th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Cruiser Convoy to benefit athletes competing in the Special Olympics of Massachusetts Summer Games. Seniors Dan Madden (pitcher) and Jeff Mejia (outfielder) were the two Hornets to make the squad. Madden went 5-2 on the hill with an earned-run average of 1.80.
